I work in a library in an inner city. My library does not receive any funding from the city. We do not have a budget for books or supplies. The only books we receive are donated. My students are adorable, friendly, and eager to learn. We have a unique school with a bilingual program where we teach Spanish speaking students to read and write in Spanish first. Then after they learn to read and write in their primary language they are transitioned to read and write in the english language. Therefore half of our school is being taught in Spanish and half in English. Our students love to read. It is just a little more difficult for some of my students since many of them haven't transitioned into the english language yet.
