My students are six and seven year olds who reside in a low income area of Southern California. Our school has a population of more than 800 students and it is a Title I school. 100% of our students receive free lunch. Many of our students are learning English as a second language. In spite of these conditions, we are a state recognized improved school, having shown growth for five years in a row.
