These materials will be placed in Multi Sensory Environments within the school buildings in which my students attend. The Multi Sensory Environments include an area for calming sensory input. The various types of lighting, night light projectors and ocean wave projectors in this project all provide this calming sensation which many of the students I work with need in order to slow their minds and bodies so they can take in and process the material they are being taught. Access to the Multi Sensory Rooms will also help the students learn to self regulate themselves so they can take strategies learned in the MSE across all environments. Being able to relax and be still is an area of difficulty for children and adults alike. These calming lights will help promote a relaxed state.
