Thank you for your interest in supporting my classroom! My name is Sergio Criollo and I teach ESL and bilingual science classes at Roosevelt High School. I am proud to work in one of the most diverse communities in the United States. My students come from a wide range of ethnic & religious backgrounds and speak more than 50 different languages. Most students live in high poverty, and many are refugees or immigrants from South America, the Middle East, or Asia. A large portion of our student body are English Language Learners (ESL), and most students speak English as a 2nd or 3rd language. Our school is a high poverty, urban neighborhood school that receives Title I funding because approximately 90% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch due to their economic status. With your help I want to provided high quality science education to some of the most marginalized students in Chicago.
