The students in our room come from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds across a large, urban area. Since we do not have a community enrollment, everyone travels a modest or significant distance to come together. While most students speak English as a primary language, many children speak another language at home. Most children are academically gifted in language arts, math, or both. Every child works conscientiously throughout the day in all academic areas. A few individuals benefit from a district instrumental music program and enjoy expressing themselves through an instrument.
