My students are young, energetic pre-kinder students who enjoy learning. They attend an early childhood program in a high poverty, Title 1 school. Since this is their first school experience I try to make each experience unique and long lasting. This pre-k program affords them the opportunity to have a head start on learning academic and social skills, hence preparing them for kinder. Research shows that all students can benefit from pre-kinder schooling, especially Title 1 students. Furthermore, my class is made of English learners and by attending my program they are able to become proficient in English at a faster rate.
