This year my district opened a new autism program at our school. I currently work with 30 children who have autism. Some of my students have spoken language while the others rely on a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and sign language. All of my students have speech and language difficulties. There are hundreds of applications available on pads which will assist my student’s communication.
Most of the students at our school are English Learners and most are Socioeconomically disadvantaged. Unfortunately, many of the students do not have sufficient opportunities to work with technology due to poverty. Please help my students with Autism improve their communication, and social skills.
