Most of my students have difficulty learning in a "typical" classroom setting. They need to be able to move around occasionally and release some of that extra energy. We often work in groups, sitting together and helping one another.
A rug, bean bag chairs and pillows along with other sensory items and fidgets would help my students be able to concentrate on the task at hand while also being able to get those wiggles out.
Softer lighting and a more natural atmosphere brings a calmness and comfort that encourages learning in my students.
My kids want to learn, they just need a little extra support sometimes.
