My students are in their second and third year of learning a new language. They have made the commitment to continue their studies into the Advance Placement status of their learning. But when it comes time to bring in their displays of the countries that they are to present, many of my students are hindered by the fact that they do not have printers at home to complete parts of their projects. Most of my students are on the free lunch program, and many tell me that they do not have printers at home. For the ones that do, the story goes that they do not have the color ink. How can I ask a parent to out and spend more than twenty dollars for color ink when that kind of money can buy dinner for the entire family?
