Many of my students struggle to meet end-of-year reading proficiency levels. l meet with students several times daily in small groups while the rest of the class works independently. During this independent time, my students would benefit from the many apps and programs designed to increase reading fluency and comprehension. Students can listen to books being read to them and can play interactive literacy games that can help them to raise their reading levels when they are not working directly with the teacher. These websites and apps will provide my students with immediate feedback on their work when they are not able to be working directly with the teacher, which will provide them with the extra instruction they need to become life-long readers.
