I teach in an inner-city school in Southern California where we have been drastically affected by the state budget cuts. My students are very inquisitive, with a desire to learn. They constantly inquire about the world around them. Unfortunately, our textbooks provided by the district do not always have all the answers to their questions. Because I teach in a community of low socioeconomic means, my students have very limited resources available to them. Most come from single-parent working families, where going to the library to do research is not an option.
