In order to make art you need to have supplies. Right now our students are at home quarantined away from their peers, away from school, their teachers, their everyday life. Art allows them to connect with their community, with each other, and understand themselves. One of the most important qualities of making art is exploring the mediums and getting the visceral feeling. Right now my students are learning online and although that can be very creative they crave to actually use supplies in their hands. Painting and drawing can be very meditative and healing. I want to create art kits for each one of my students to send to their homes in order to explore that side of themselves and stay connected to the world through art.
