My students attend a science magnet school. This is a magnet school therefore students are bussed in from all over the city. It truly is a diverse classroom with students at all ability levels and from several cultures. It is important that second language learners have time to practice their skills in a setting that is friendly and familiar. This relieves anxiety and stress which allows the brain to focus on learning and retain new information.
