I teach fifth grade in a low-income neighborhood where most of the parents do not speak English. Some of my students have learning gaps and need remedial help along with learning the content necessary to become proficient in math. Most of my students are eager to learn as long as they remain engaged and encouraged. I am confident that these kids can excel in math sooner than expected if they have the necessary tools.
