My students are 2nd and 3rd graders. They live in an urban neighborhood. Most of my students are from a low economic background. 100% of my students are Hispanics, and 75% are from a Spanish speaking family. Most students are learning English as a secondary language. They like to listen to stories read to them, and tries very hard to read stories on their own fluently. Currently, I have three groups of students at three different levels. One is below grade level, one is reaching benchmark, and the other one is at grade level. They all learn at a different pace and use different methods of learning. Some students are visual, auditory, and/or kinesthetic learners.
