My students are among the lowest socio-economic demographic of public school learners in the nation. Because of this, access to technology for them is extremely limited, or simply not available at all. While I've accepted the reality of the situation, I look for ways every day to combat it. Whether gathering old computers from family members and friends, lobbying local businesses and organizations for used headphones, or using my own financial resources to supplement technological learning materials, I realize how imperative it is that aid come from those of us in the trenches, as opposed to waiting for "the system" to provide my students with the valuable materials they need.
