I will have 21 2nd grade students ready to learn. My students come from a low socioeconomic household. Most of the students do not have books and materials of their own at home or their parents do know how to read in English. My school is a Title 1 and majority of our students participate in the free lunch program. Most of my students are language learners which gives them limited learning opportunities due to their household.
This year we will start the school year at our own homes. Due to Covid-19, we will not have our excitement and first day of school nerves. School will continue to be held in each students' home where siblings will also be learning at home. I want to make sure that my students will receive an opportunity to further their learning.
