I teach students with special needs. My students' ages range from 5-9 years. My students have multiple disabilities and have very small attention spans and need something that can grab their interest to learn new material. They love to play games. They will happily play phonic games, spelling games and vocabulary games if presented through technology. They do not even know they are learning.
All the computers in our school are about 10 years old. They are not compatible with new technology. My students do so much with so little. Imagine if they had the latest technology available to them. They may make so much progress. They may be able to overcome their disabilities and be able to compete with regular students. So my project is simply to get my students decoding. If they can decode they can read and a whole new world opens up to them.
