Our school is an urban school in California with an incredibly diverse population. We teach students of all abilities, and all economic backgrounds, and the school is a true neighborhood school. We serve students in grades 7 - 12, which adds an interesting character to the school personality. We send over 80% of our students to colleges and community colleges. Some attend Ivy League schools, some go to community college, some go out of state, but most attend 4 year schools here in California. Many of our graduates come back to live in the neighborhood, and some come back to teach at their school, which makes me really proud. I teach juniors and seniors who are college bound, and I'm the department chair for Social Studies. I can confidently say that my students will make a positive difference in their community, and in the world.
