My students attend a high poverty public school. Although we are a high poverty school, we are also a high achieving school. Most of our students and parents do their best to succeed. The majority of my students live in apartments or the local trailer home park. Due to the financial constraints that many of our families have, many of my students have very limited life experiences. These limitations affect their vocabulary and ability to easily make connections.
