I work in a K-8 school in the state of California where 60% of students are English Language learners. Moreover, 100% of the students are living at or below the poverty level. I teach 6th grade Math and Science. My students are in a dual language class and they receive their academic instruction in Spanish. My students have a great desire to learn and will often arrive to school early to complete their research projects. Resources for my Spanish students are quite limited and they often rely on learning from the Internet because they don't have money to go on trips to local museums or faraway destinations.
