My students come from a low socio-economic community. We are a Title 1 School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Most of the students at my school are English Language Learners and 100% of the students participate in the free breakfast/lunch program.
My Kindergarteners are very enthusiastic and eager to learn. For most of them, Kindergarten is their first school experience. They make new friends, play new games and do things that they've never done before, like read and write. How exciting! They learn so many new social and academic concepts that it would be great to be able to look back and remember all of those amazing experiences.
In Kindergarten, one never knows when something memorable is going to happen. Every day is an adventure in my classroom of twenty-six 5-6 year olds! "There's never a dull moment!"
