My students are an energetic group of kids with brilliant ideas and great capacity for learning. They attend a school that services grades pre-K through fifth. Our school is ethnically and socio-economically diverse. Some of my students come to school with a strong academic foundation already in place, whereas others enter kindergarten with limited academic exposure.
My classroom of kindergarteners are always eager to learn and show enormous growth every year. They participate in workshop for reading and writing, which gives them the opportunity to be independent learners, as well as work in partnerships with classmates and share their work. As their teacher, I can see their love for learning and discovering in their faces and hear it in their voices. I love to hear them use new vocabulary that they learn in class.
