My students are 98% English Language Learners, and live in Los Angeles's disadvantaged neighborhoods. Although their families face economic challenges, they come to school eager to learn and participate in a wholesome learning environment. They enjoy reading, writing, science, math, and art activities. They specially cherish reading time where they have an opportunity to use their imaginations and escape into different genres and learning topics.
