My students are four to five year olds. They are an excitable, curious, and for the most part, a happy group of 36 students. In general, they are limited in their experiences and the world around them. They have some exposure to books, but not nearly as much as they should. Parents are busy working, at times in more than one job and grandparents or sitters are bringing them to school and making sure homework is done. But, parents are very interested in the success of their children and they place their trust in the school system and in me, the teacher. They send their children to school with the expectations that they will be exiting the Pre-Kinder year prepared for the challenges that Kinder will bring.
