Our students are in desperate need of a variety of stimulating experiences that will allow them to become more aware of their environment and at the same time help them reach their maximum potential through practice, repetition, imitation and exposure to a variety of functional tasks. To achieve this goal and help them improve in the different functional areas of my instructional program the use of technology is essential. Therefore, I am requesting a tablet and a projector. These devices will provide access to sufficient age-appropriate reading materials, audiovisual stimuli, etc.
Our students are the most severe in public schools: (Multiple Disabilities- Severe MDS) None of my 10 students is able to speak or walk independently if at all. They are very low functioning cognitively and physically speaking, most of them with severe developmental delays, quadriplegia and unable to produce speech. Consequently, they rely heavily on the teacher and assistants to be able to perform in act
