Imagine writing, researching, or creating anything without the assistance of technology. It's something we take for granted, yet is the reality in my classroom.
With only 2 computers to share right now, students aren't able to use technology as a part of their every day learning. The effect is that they have had fewer opportunities than peers in more advantaged schools when they arrive in middle school. Many students' homes don't have regular access to computer technology or the internet for research. Keyboarding skills to make writing easier, and research skills for learning suffer because of this lack of technology.
Adding just even these two Chromebooks will enable students to work in a small group on technology nearly every day. My students deserve the opportunities that other students have!
