I currently have 23 Kindergarten students. They are all curious and full of energy. Our day is planned around lessons that engage and motivate them to learn. Our school is located in Southern California and this makes for wonderful weather. Due to the great weather my students are always asking to go on Nature Walks around our campus. During these walks their attention is easily captivated by a simple leaf or a rock. As their teacher, I believe my job includes nurturing a love of learning inside and outside of our classroom. One of their favorite activities includes Read-Aloud. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, Read-Aloud are limited. The need for additional exposure to great literature is meet during our Listening Center time. Students not only listen to a captivating story, but they are able to practice reading strategies as a follow-up activity.
