A document camera is such an important aspect of teaching. This simple tool will allow me to project work so that students are able to follow along while learning. Imagine being a student with learning difficulties that have to learn by your teacher holding up a piece of paper or a whiteboard to a computer camera. Imagine having to rig your iPhone on a bunch of Pringles containers to create a makeshift digital camera with the hope that you can project your teaching so students can follow along. This is what I have had to do to help my students learn.
Remote learning has been a challenge for my Special Education students to get a proper education. Not having a proper document camera has made it even more of a challenge to teach this group of children. Having a proper document camera will allow me to not only teach lessons that are geared towards the student’s individual goals, but will allow me to support the students within their general education assignments. I can easily demonstrate different strategies that students can use in their lessons. Also, I can write on documents that will help with a lot of confusion that my students experience. A document camera will allow the students to have the high-quality education they deserve even if it is remote.
My students deserve the best and a document camera with a headset will provide these students with that opportunity. At this time, I am providing them with the best that I can offer, but the camera will make it so much more beneficial. Thank you for all your support. My students and I greatly appreciate all the support you provide us!
