My teaching experience in education has been great. I have been exposed to many different facets of the education process. I first started as a paraprofessional in 2002, and I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn from the teacher that I was working with. That teacher provided me with the skills and knowledge that I would need to be able to become a good teacher in 2003. I have always worked with students with special needs; students with Autism, students with emotional disturbance, and students with intellectual disabilities. While it has been challenging working with students that are most severe, I would definitely say that I have learned so much from them. I have worked in non public schools, and public schools with middle and elementary school age students. Currently I am at a new school this academic year. This year has been challenging but I have been able to work with families, paraprofessionals and other colleagues to help my students improve behaviorally and academically.
