In sunny Southern California, I teach a combination of first, second, and third graders in a special day class. My students enter the classroom with smiles and an eagerness to learn. Although they try their best, they struggle in reading and mathematics. Most of them ride the school bus to and from home and are a part of the free lunch program. Some of the families only speak Spanish at home and work more than one job. A couple of my students access neighbors to assist them with their homework. Being able to provide my students with fun interactive math tools would enhance their learning!
