NV Standard for Math: 1.OA.A.1 Represent and solve problems involving addition and subtraction. I believe the math tools ( number lines and rekenreks) will greatly assist my students with “catching them up” with their adding and subtracting skills. These math tools are concrete, visual, and hands on! Math tools are essential for first graders, because they do not understand abstract concepts at this young age! Students fell behind due to not having the proper math tools and materials at home during Covid. Many of the students live in low income families, and English is not their first language.
