My students are a bright mix of avid book lovers! They actually squeal when they see me bring in a new box of books to share! They keep me on my toes to change the books in our inquiry center every week. The students are also challenged daily (unfortunately) by severe socioeconomic issues and few have access to the arts or art supplies outside of the classroom. Our classroom matches our school demographic and is made up of mostly English Language Learners (20 out of 23 students or 87%) who struggle daily to expand their vocabulary base. Our school is also classified for school-wide Title 1 funding due to the poverty most of our students deal with on a daily basis.
