My class is an amazing group of gifted students who go to school in a low economic area. Our school budget is very tight with no room for extra spending. There is no money to buy additional supplementary materials. If some money is set aside, it is usually used for intervention for low performing students. The gifted cluster in the upper grades needs resources and materials to enrich their learning, unfortunately money is a major stumbling block. Our school is in economic hardship with the entire student body qualifying for free lunch. We are a program improvement school and desperately need to reach out to our gifted clusters to further enrich their education.
