My students attend a school that is situated inside a low income, high crime community. My school and I have a mission of educating all students to be college and career ready and that possess the 21st century skill needed to be successful in life. My students are English learners living in this community, trying to make the best of it all. They also have special needs such as learning disabilities, and speech and hearing deficits. Although, they are faced with difficult challenges to overcome, they continue to be optimistic and motivated to do their best. Thus, they deserve the best.
