Students often need more than just sitting in a large group of, at times, more than 30 students on a mat, carpet, or desk. Sometimes these students need to be able to sit more closely with their teacher or among a smaller group of students to be able to focus on learning a new skill or engage in deeper discussions. These skills could be literacy, mathematics, or even socialization to benefit peer relationships within the class. The different seating options will allow the students to sit in a small group at a horseshoe table with the teacher, sit on the floor with a small group, or even work independently at a separate location with a partner to practice a skill. These seating options will be used for small group instruction and flexible seating to address the need for more direct instruction. It will help them achieve their goals for continued progress and success!
