The students at my school are in grades 4 - 6. We have flexible scheduling so unless their teacher chooses to bring them in as a whole class to check out books or for a lesson they need to come by themselves. Avid readers will make the time to do that but there are many children that I never see. The community where the school is located has diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of them really need the exposure to books.
