In my classroom I am working with thirty-nine students on a daily basis. One of the students is classified, while others are on different learning levels. This diversity within my classroom requires me to use differentiation with my students. Half of my students are English speaking dominant students, while the other half are Spanish speaking dominant students. The dual language classroom fosters the development of bilingual, bi-literate, and bi-cognitive skills in English and Spanish. We promote cross-cultural, racial, and ethnic tolerance, and foster an understanding and appreciation for diversity. They are a very intuitive group, and they are also eager to learn.
