I work at a Title I low income school with 1205 students. Approximately 90.8% of students qualify to receive free /reduced lunch and many do not have access to a computer at home. Ever year, there is an increasing population of children with special needs in our school. As one of three speech-language therapists in my school, I service 55 students in K-5 twice weekly; and even some three times a week. We have additional service providers as well and we are lacking in funds for equipment, supplies, and materials that would serve beneficial for our students to excel and support their disabilities. I have students on my caseload with moderate to severe speech and language impairments with stuttering and delays in: articulation, auditory processing, receptive and expressive language skills. In addition, I service students with learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, and students on the PDD spectrum.
