Many of the students I teach have significant gaps and deficiencies in math. Initial math inventory assessments of my 7th grade students showed that many of them entered school at a 4th and 5th grade level. This correlates exactly with the last time these students were attending school in-person. My students need more individual and small group instruction to help them overcome and fill the gaps in their math knowledge. One particular standard of concern is 7.NS.A. This standard addresses the operations of our number system. Too many of my students struggle with basic computations. The introduction of this particular laptop will allow me to create dynamic and inspiring lessons for the small groups I pull throughout the day.
