There are currently sixteen students in my Sensory-Communication program. All of the students have severe communication delays as well as being at risk for Autism. Our program focuses on increasing communication and pre-kindergarten skills using hands-on materials and activities that provide sensory input which increases the student's ability to attend to a teacher directed learning task. Children with Autism tend to have limited interest therefore, providing them with materials that are colorful, meaningful, and familiar should expand their educational skills.
