My students are OWLS! In our classroom OWLS stands for Outstanding Working Learning Students. Their reading levels range from kindergarten to above fourth grade. All of my students work hard regardless of their lives outside of school. They love to read and many times a day I have students asking me for a nonfiction book on a different topic. My students attend an elementary school where more than 85% of the students receive free or reduced, lunch and breakfast. The majority of them do not go to the library on a regular basis. Many of my students do not go home after school, either they go to daycare or to a family member's house. Regardless, they all come to school ready to learn!
