I teach eighth graders whom are preparing themselves for high school. The curriculum is very challenging to them and I provide many scaffolds, which help them access content that is above their respective reading levels. My students are well-aware of the struggles our school faces. We are a small community school with high needs. Many of our students come from low-income families and receive free lunches. In this high-stakes-testing mentality of education, my students need all the resources they can get.
