I am a 3rd grade bilingual teacher. My students are bright, hard working english language learners. Most of the children come from homes where parents work long hours and provide very little academic support. The majority of the children are poor, some are even homeless. They walk into my classroom everyday with a smile, eager to learn and ready to take on the next challenge. Our school district does not provide us with the necessary tools since we are located in a low-income area in New York.
