Scholastic News has been an excellent resource for reading for my 1st and 4th grade students for over 15 years. Now, since we are conducting distance learning, I want my students to have access to it digitally on their devices away from school, as well. They will find the non-fiction articles interesting and thought provoking, AND the articles can be accessed at their particular reading levels. Students will be able to have articles read to them too!
I'll conduct lessons around Scholastic News' digital articles dealing with current, cross-curricular news, as well as social-emotional wellness. Students will be able to stay on track with digital differentiation tools that give them access to each lesson and meet them at their skill level. They'll be able to complete interactive quizzes about their reading material, too. When they return to school, Scholastic, Inc. will provide hard copies of their news magazine for each of my students!
