My students come from homes with little to no reading material, where the value of reading is not imparted. Parents don't have enough education to read newspapers or books. There is not enough money to spend on books.
The saddest thing I've heard was "Mrs. F, the thing is, I 'don't' read." This came from one of the brightest boys in my class. He doesn't read because he sees no value in it. This is so sad to me since I love reading so much.
I will do whatever it takes to help my students read, learn and move into the word of technology. Thank you for your support.
