I teach 24 second language kindergarten students in a full-day program. They have many different languages and all of them come into my classroom ready to learn kindergarten skills and English as well. My school is a school of choice for the district because we have the only full day kindergarten program and we are the only year round school in my district. My kindergarten class is 80% ELL this year and 8 girls and 16 boys. This is typical of my classroom for the past 11 years when the school opened.
