Our 5th and 5th grade students attend a dual language school located in the heart of Chicago, a neighborhood known to be a "gateway" community for the past 100 years or more. 98% our our students deal with poverty and receive free or reduced lunch and most come from families where Spanish is the home language. Many of our students have seen one form of gang violence or another. Our school's playground is the only place where parents allow our students to play outside without the fear of violence.
