I teach twenty-three students with various degrees of learning disabilities in the Resource Specialist Program in an economically depressed area in Oakland, California. My students are energetic, charming, and motivated to learn. They are first through eighth graders who spend anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours a day in my program working on their academic skills (reading, writing, and math).
