The project is designed to offer new play experiences utilizing a therapeutic approach to a classroom of pre-school students with autism. The activities will offer opportunities to increase their fine motor and visual motor skills through successful play.
Students will do common things in an uncommon way to promote the development of improved bilateral hand coordination skills.
The classroom is currently comprised of students with varying degrees of autism which impacts their functional work skills. The work task boxes will assist with improving fine motor skills for greater success with classroom work/play tasks in preparation for higher level lifelong learning.
